Avocados contain essential nutrients such as vitamin C, E, K, B2, B3, B5, B6, folate, magnesium, copper and manganese. They are a source of healthy fats, and they are also low in carbohydrates. They even contain more potassium than bananas, and one avocado, depending on its size, will generally contain about half the recommended daily intake of fibre!

One meta-analysis found that diets rich in avocados resulted in lower levels of LDL cholesterol - high levels of LDL cholesterol is associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease.
Avocados also contain lutein, which is an antioxidant that is naturally found in out eyes and is essential for eye health as it may reduce the risk of age-related eye diseases such as cataracts and macular degeneration.
